Activision has a new surprise for those interested in "Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare" as F1 champion Lewis Hamilton will have a brief cameo in the highly-anticipated first person shooter.
"Game of Thrones" actor Kit Harington was already revealed earlier as one of the antagonists in the "COD Infinite Warfare" video game. Even UFC star Conor McGregor was also reportedly appearing in a cameo inside the game.
Now, the world champion in F1 racing will also be starring in the new "Call of Duty" game. Hamilton will appear briefly as a spaceship engineer for the Retribution during the opening moments of "Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, "MCV has learned.
The cameo is just short because of the busy schedule of the world champion. Hamilton's whole body and face was scanned and animated by Infinity Ward.
Hamilton said: "I've been a 'Call of Duty' fan for long time, so it's an absolute honour to be part of this game and the franchise. The experience of being put into the game - from the facial scanning process to working with the team on the performance capture stage and just being able to meet the developers at the studio to get a glimpse at all the hard work that goes into the game - this has been an incredible experience."
Infinity Ward Director Taylor Kurosaki said that everyone in the studio was glad to have worked with Hamilton because they were all huge fans. He added that Hamilton nailed the performance for the game.
"Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare" will bring back the Terminal map from the "Modern Warfare 2," VG247 reported. The difference is that it has been redesigned to fit in a moon base which is just right for the theme of the game which brings players to outer space.
There is no word on when the map will be available to all players since it is included in the list of freebies for "Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare" pre-orders. Activision and Infinity Ward did not say that they will be making the map exclusive to those who preordered the game which is coming out in a few weeks.
