A lot of viewers have been hooked with the highly-anticipated Netflix drug cartel drama, and now people could not just stop looking forward for "Narcos" Season 3. Fans are now eager to know what lies ahead for "Narcos" since the notorious Medellin Cartel kingpin Pablo Escobar had passed away.
It is not surprising to know that viewers have been disappointed with the early demise of Escobar (Wagner Moura). Moving on with another season, "Narcos" executive producer Eric Newman explained why people should never missed every episode of "Narcos" Season 3.
"They're certainly teed up for that, that's for sure," Newman told Entertainment Weekly after he was asked if the new season will focus on the Cali Cartel. "This show has always been about cocaine. We purposely did not call the show Pablo Escobar or Medellin."
"Narcos" Season 3 will focus on four Cali godfathers, including brothers Gilberto and Miguel (Francisco Denis), Pacho Herrera (Alberto Ammann), and "Chepe," and how they will lead their cocaine business in and out of Mexico. Newman described Cali cartel as a more pervasive and more insidious organization than the Medellin.
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Newman hinted that another Mexican drug cartel led by El Chapo, one of the guys in the Guadalajara cartel may be seen following Cali cartel. The showrunner said that they are bound to expound more on the Mexican cartels.
As for the characters, viewers could expect new faces in "Narcos" Season 3. New cast includes Kerry Bishe, who is notable for her "Halt and Catch Fire" performance, will appear in the Netflix drama as Christina. Other newcomers are Michael Stahl-David and Matt Whelan.
The next chapter will follow a chronological sequel as Newman has been known keen with this style. It will also pick up where the last season left off with a little adjustment to introduce the new cast members.
In "Narcos" Season 3, viewers are going to see the major differences between Medellin and Cali cartels. Unlike Escobar's powerful and rebellious nature with the government, Cali will be seen as a counterpart of the government as it was able to penetrate the Colombian political arena.
