With the lack of updates, it seems that Gong Minzy is purposely delaying her solo debut to match 2NE1's comeback.
Former 2NE1 maknae Gong Minzy got everyone excited when she announced that she will debut as a solo artist under her new label Music Works after leaving 2NE1 and YG Entertainment.
Music Works released an update about Minzy's solo debut and said that her debut will probably happen in November. According to SBS.com.au, a representative from the agency told Nate that Minzy was currently trying to decide on her solo debut concept. Moreover, the agency is not putting a deadline on Minzy's final word, so that she can make the right choice.
"We are currently requesting songs from composers and musicians, and working hard to find Minzy's own colour. There isn't one exclusive, and we are looking at everything from dance, ballad and such," the rep said.
Meanwhile, previous reports claimed that 2NE1 comeback is delayed to give way to Minzy's solo debut. The unnies reportedly felt guilty for hindering Minzy's career. Minzy is a young artist that has an immense talent and a strong desire to perform on stage. However, she cannot show off her talent when the group is in hiatus. Moreover, it seemed that her career was left in the back burner while YG catapults the careers of the two other members. This yielded to frustration to the maknae of the group.
Minzy's departure is reportedly due to lack of solo activities during the hiatus. The 2NE1 maknae reportedly want to focus on other things. Minzy was 16 when she debuted under YG.
Meanwhile, YG Entertainment is reportedly laying the groundwork for 2NE1's much-awaited comeback. Park Bom is slowly reentering the industry starting her way in social media. She made a new Instagram account and is testing the reactions of netizens who once criticized her for her drug scandal.
