Samsung may have messed up big with the Galaxy Note 7 issues but the company will still be rolling out a Galaxy Note 8 for 2017 which hopefully will not be dangerous.
Galaxy Note 7 owners were largely disappointed as some of the models caught fire leading to stopped sales and huge recalls. Now, Samsung is confirming that they are not ending the Galaxy Note brand or line as they will release a new model in 2017.
Samsung is one of the largest contenders in the smartphone and consumer electronics arena and the recent Galaxy Note 7 spells disaster for their cashflow. Fortunately, the company knows how to handle the problem and is still on their feet.
The South Korean tech giant announced the new "Galaxy Upgrade" program which allows Galaxy Note 7 users to exchange the device for a Galaxy S7. Those who plan to exchange it or those who already have will also be able to get the new Galaxy S8 or Galaxy Note 8 in 2017, Know Your Mobile has learned.
Users who are part of the upgrade program will have a 50 percent discount when upgrading to the said phone. Interested customers can still apply until November 30 although the program is currently available only in South Korea.
Samsung has not announced whether the program will be made available outside their country. The Galaxy Note 8 could be another game changer although some users might be scared of another potential battery explosion disaster when the time comes.
Fans are expecting the Galaxy Note 8 to finally have a removable battery to minimize the possibility of further damage should there be another mishap, iTech Post reported. In addition, it would also help users to pack more batteries during long trips so that they would not need to charge as often as needed.
Samsung will have to announce the Galaxy Note 8 specs, features and release date in the near future. For now, fans will have to wait until the Galaxy Note 7 problems blow over as the company is still in some deep troubled water.
