Cellar-dwelling side Hamburger SV (0-7-2, 2 points) will try to earn its first win in the 2016-2017 Bundesliga season as it faces contending squad Borussia Dortmund (4-2-3, 15 points) on Nov. 5, Saturday at their home field of Imtech Arena.

However, the struggles began for head coach Markus Gisdol's side when American striker Bobby Wood was sent off in the 58th minute for elbowing Cologne defender Dominique Heintz in the stomach following a shoving battle. The referee did not actually see the incident but booked Wood with a red card upon consultation with his linesmen.
From there Cologne ran riot, particularly French forward Anthony Modeste, who unleashed a hat trick scoring in the 61st, 82nd, and 86th minutes, handing Die Rothosen their fifth loss in the last six rounds.
Meanwhile, last season's runner-up squad Borussia Dortmund has not been able to go back to their former form after losing several key players in the recent summer transfer window. They are currently settled at the sixth place in the overall standings after nine rounds of matches.
In their most recent fixture, head coach Thomas Tuchel's squad was held to a 0-0 tie by streaking side FC Schalke in a Revierderby at their own home ground of Signal Iduna Park last Saturday, Goal reported.
It was the fourth consecutive winless performance for Die Borussen as they slowly descend in the league table.
Dortmund is expected to climb back up in the standings starting in this match against bottom-dwellers Hamburg.
