The South Korean show "Running Man" will soon release a special episode to mark the departure of one of its cast members. Gary's final episode in the SBS variety program will feature a special theme to celebrate the members' long history together.
"Running Man" cast and crew members gave Gary a special tribute as the South Korean rapper completed his filming activities for the said show. Filmed on Oct. 31, the upcoming episode titled "The Messy Special" will feature missions focused on the outgoing member.
A broadcasting industry source told Korean news outlet Sports Chosun that the upcoming episode will follow a theme of "77,000 kilometers." It appears that said theme represents the total distance that the "Running Man" members covered in the past seven years.
Several of the missions in the upcoming special episode will either include the number "77,000" or will have something to do with distance. Gary's co-cast members have also prepared a few surprises for the outgoing "Running Man" star, according to the source.
Viewers can expect to see a funny yet emotional episode in SBS show's "The Messy Special." Gary, as well as other cast members, may even shed some tears during the said "Running Man" episode.
The upcoming "Running Man" special will not feature any guests, according to the source. Given Gary's long history with the SBS variety program, the said episode will feature memorable moments between its cast members.
Meanwhile, Gary is one of the original cast members of the long-running SBS show. Despite the musician's departure, showrunners decided against adding a new cast member to the show.
An SBS source told Korea Herald that the show will continue with its remaining six cast members. Upcoming episodes will feature Kim Jong Kook, Ji Suk Jin, Haha, Lee Kwang Soo, Song Ji Hyo and Yu Jae Seok completing various missions with various guests.
"Running Man" will release its special Gary episode on Nov. 6, Sunday on SBS. Watch a snippet from the show's previous episode below:
