Former UFC women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey will be facing Amanda Nunes this December at UFC 207 for the women’s bantamweight title, a match which she claims will be one of her last. Dana White admits that he is aware of Rousey’s plans and believes the former champion will focus on her acting career.
Rousey has been out of the UFC for more than a year now since suffering her very first loss at UFC 193 at the hands of Holly Holm. “Rowdy” just hasn’t been the same ever since and even revealed of considering suicide at some point during her hiatus.
Outside the UFC, things haven’t really panned out for Ronda Rousey as well. She was originally scheduled to take some time off to focus on her film commitments. Unfortunately, the two films – “Road House” and “Mile 22” were temporarily shelved for different reasons, Fox Sports reported.
White bared that he is already aware of what Ronda Rousey has planned next but would prefer the former champion reveal the main reason why she is retiring from mixed martial arts fighting. The last thing he wants to do is steal the attention from “Rowdy”.
As far as what may be next, White believes that Rousey will focus on her acting career. There is no actual roadmap for now on what the film industry holds for her though she is expected to draw a lot of suitors seeing how she has starred in several flicks like “The Expendables 3” and “Furious 7”.
"She loves acting, she's good at it and if she dedicates herself to it, she'll be even better at it," White said.
Aside from Hollywood, Ronda Rousey may consider a move to the WWE scene. She was a hit at Wrestlemania 31 alongside Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and would later admit that she is a big fan of the company.
WWE minority owner Stephanie McMahon made it known that she intends to target Ronda Rousey once she does retire, a perfect addition to the women’s division, TMZ reported.
