Alexis Sanchez and Olivier Giroud both scored braces for head coach Arsene Wenger's side to complete the team's four-goal haul during the contest.
The Chilean winger opened the scoring in the 19th minute, which was the lone goal in the first half. Sunderland forward Jermain Defoe was then able to equalize the match with a spot kick in the 65th minute.
Giroud then netted two goals, in the 71st and 76th minutes, to give the Gunners a 3-1 lead before Sanchez scored his second goal of the match in the 78th.
Meanwhile, Tottenham remained undefeated after 10 rounds this season following a 1-1 draw with defending champions Leicester City at their home ground of White Hart Lane also last Saturday, Sports Mole reported.
Vincent Janssen scored the opening goal with only a minute left before full-time with a penalty kick off a foul by Leicester defender Robert Huth, who grappled and tugged the Dutch striker's shirt.
The game was equalized three minutes into the second half with a goal from Nigerian forward Ahmed Musa off an assist by English striker Jamie Vardy.
The Spurs are currently at the fifth spot in the overall standings after having drawn three straight games.
