In its aim of simplifying its users online experience, tech giant Google recently announced the updated version of its Google Contacts service. Google Contacts merges Google's email service Gmail and its social network Google+.
A message posted on the Official Gmail Blog said that Google is releasing its newest service in order to "make it easier to keep track of the people you know and get the info you need, fast."
In order for the new service to be more efficient and streamlined, all contact information from Google+ and Gmail will be synced. In addition to this important information from Google+ profile like address, phone number and job titles will be automatically synced to the new service.
Google Contacts will also ensure that user information are up to date and accurate. Google achieved this by merging existing user information with the contact's Google profile.
Google Contacts also sports a redesigned feature in order to fix duplicate contact information. This will enable users to merge multiple entries into a single profile at no time at all. This feature is already present in Gmail contacts but Google promised that the new tool is more efficient and user-friendly, according to Mashable.
Unfortunately, a preview of the new Google Contact is currently unavailable and the link from the official Gmail blog gives users an Error 404.
Google said that the new service will be rolled out to Gmail users "over the next few weeks." However, the Inbox app will not be part of this update but Google promised that it is "working on it."
