Oscar-winning "Boyhood" star Patricia Arquette stars in the latest CSI franchise "CSI: Cyber" where viewers will see her delving into the world of cyber crimes. The new series was announced together in her acceptance speech at the Academy Awards night. People have been buzzing about her right after even the awards were over.
Arquette will be playing Special Agent Avery Ryan, a character she portrayed the previous year in "CSI: Crime scene Investigation." Avery is the head of the Cyber Crime Division of the FBI. She is fond of sodas and she can read micro-expressions to determine whether someone is innocence or lying. She is a behavior psychologist whose top secret files were hacked and got one of her patients killed.
Her second in command is Agent Elijah Mundo portrayed by James Van Der Beek, who is very fond of video games. Raven Ramirez portrayed by Hayley Kiyoko) and Daniel Krumitz portrayed by Charley Koontz are part of her team picked from the network's "Scorpion", Brody Nelson portrayed by Shad Moss is a hacker assigned to their team to do the hacking. Director Simon Sifter portrayed by Peter MacNicol supervises the division, according to Hollywood Reporter.
The New "CSI: Cyber" is based on the works of Mary Alken, a cyber psychologist, and most of the happenings are based on real life events. Writers do their best to try and freak out the viewers.
The premiere episode of the series is about the hacking of baby monitors where babies were taken to be sold to foreign buyers. Next episodes are about the team dealing with a serial killer who uses an app to find his new victims and a computer geek who hacks subways and rollercoasters systems to impress his friends,
The new franchise will air its premiere telecast on March 4, Wednesday, on CBS.
