"Running Man" recently filmed its first episode following Gary's departure from the long-running SBS variety program. However, the six-member team's new mission will reunite them with the rapper where Song Ji Hyo warmly greeted her former Monday Couple partner.
The South Korean actress was unable to hide her excitement when she had the chance to meet Gary again in "Running Man." Photo stills released by SBS through its social networking services, as obtained by All Kpop, showed Song giving the rapper a back hug.
Song was photographed with her arms around Gary's neck and shoulders while the rapper sat in front of a desk. The "This Week, My Wife will have an Affair" star and Gary even had big smiles on their faces. Gary was also taken by surprise with his former Monday Couple partner's sudden arrival in what appears to be his studio.
The former "Running Man" star became the show's unexpected guest when Song, along with the SBS show's other members were tasked to look for Gary to complete a mission. With a "shortage vacation" themed episode, the South Korean rapper played an important role in supplying the cast members with food and additional travel money.
Meanwhile, "Running Man" episode 456 marked Gary's final appearance in the SBS variety program. Aired on Nov. 6, Sunday, Song and other cast members endured pain and other torturous situations to ensure that Gary will receive the grand prize.
Song also showed a happy façade although she struggled to hold back her tears towards the end of the said episode. However, the actress expressed her sadness during Gary's farewell party, according to the SBS show's producing director Jung Cheol Min.
In an interview with Korean news outlet OSEN, Jung recounted how Song became emotional during the said event. The actress felt very sad about Gary's departure from the SBS show, according to the producing director.
