After a long hiatus, Super Junior's Kyuhyun is so back to the limelight. In a recent interview for his solo comeback, the 28-year-old idol named a successor to his "SM's Ballad Prince" title.
"In terms of similar vibe, I think Onew is a possibility," Soompi quoted Super Junior's Kyuhyun as saying. "It's not that I think of him as somehow 'behind' me in line. I just think he's a really talented junior. If I go further, I think EXO's Chen is a possibility too."
The Kpop idol then shared his various musical tastes. Kyuhyun revealed he would prefer not to listen to ballads when the weather is hot, believing that ballads should come out when it gets cold. He added, "I listen to ballads in all four seasons but I also enjoy hip-hop."
It comes after Super Junior's Kyuhyun dropped his third extended play titled "I Wait For You" (literal translation) on Nov. 10, Thursday. During his special guest appearance on MBC's "Radio Star," he mentioned that "Blah blah" will be his last single before entering the military.
The Kpop idol will most likely begin his two-year mandatory military service before the year ends or in the first quarter of 2017. While Kyuhyun is completing his military service, many believed Sungmin, Leeteuk and Donghae will cover his parts until he returns.
"We think when Kyuhyun leaves, someone who has a fateful connection may come aboard," "Radio Star's" producer Hwang Kyo-Jin told local newsoutlet OSEN, as cited by All Kpop. "We are not thinking of anyone in advance. It doesn't seem right toward Kyuhyun. He seemed to be thinking about it, though."
Debuted in 2006, Kyuhyun is one of the first four Korean artists to appear on postal stamps of China. He has also ventured into acting, where he has been cast to play Kim Joosung, the youngest team leader of a research team, in the Naver TV cast web drama "Bongsun, The Woman Who Dies If She Loves."
