Kanye West was handcuffed and hospitalized after the Los Angeles Police Department paid him a visit on Nov. 21, Monday. The LAPD acted on a disturbance call a day after the rapper abruptly cancelled the remainder of his Saint Pablo tour.
At approximately 1.20 p.m. on Monday, cops responded to a call for a welfare check on West and learnt that the "Famous" hitmaker was at his trainer, Harley Pasternak's residence, and was acting in an erratic manner, according to TMZ. The disturbance call then turned into a medical emergency and the LAPS notified the Los Angeles Fire Department but by the time they arrived at the scene, West had simmered down.
Even though West had calmed down, he was still unwilling to go to the hospital. However, law enforcement authorities as well as West's management convinced the rapper that going to the hospital was in the best interest of his own health and safety.
The rapper was later restrained by handcuffs and admitted to the to UCLA Medical Center, where he is currently being evaluated for severe sleep deprivation. However, a source close to West told Us Weekly that the rapper is "suffering from exhaustion and sleep deprivation and went to the hospital today on his own will and under the consultation of his physician."
West's hospitalization comes after what has been a turbulent week for the rapper, who walked off the stage three songs into his Sacramento concert on Nov. 19, Saturday. During the concert, West also threw shade at Jay Z and Beyonce in a lengthy rant before cancelling all of his remaining Saint Pablo tour dates.
Kim Kardashian rushed to West's side after his hospitalization on Monday. The reality star was supposed to make an appearance at the Angel Ball in New York City on Monday night, where her late father Robert Kardashian was being honored. The remaining Kardashian sisters, Khloe, Kourtney and mom Kris Jenner were all in attendance at the event.
