The Los Angeles Clippers do have the tools to dominate when healthy and such is showing this early in the NBA season. Right now, the Clippers are sizzling and hopefully this remains once the playoffs come around.
Looking that far into the NBA playoffs may sound premature but everyone knows that the success in the regular season is nothing if you fall in the postseason wars. The Los Angeles Clippers know that all too well so coach Doc Rivers needs to properly manage the players moving forward.
The Los Angeles Clippers roster shows the same old faces. Blake Griffin, Chris Paul, DeAndre Jordan and J.J. Reddick are humming up front with support players like Jamal Crawford, Austin Rivers, and Wesley Johnson. The new additions include Luc Mbah a Moute and Mareese Speights, both of whom have been contributing when called upon by Rivers.
Given that bunch, it comes to no surprise that the Los Angeles Clippers are dominating the NBA power rankings and ahead of favored teams like the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Golden State Warriors, Nola.com reported. Considering they are outscoring opponents by an average of 14.2 points, it is no wonder why they are currently sporting a 13-2 card in the Western Conference.
The performance is something expected but unseen in the previous seasons. Injuries and player compliment were seen as main reasons but it looks like the coaching staff has finally assembled a fluid team this 2016-17 NBA season, Forbes reported.
There is no question the Clippers will be among the top teams come the playoffs. The only thing that the Clippers would probably get then is better seeding or even the best record for homecourt advantage at least for the Western Conference pairings.
Most important of all, the playoffs will revert all teams back to square one. Survival will be the name of the game by that time, something the Clippers have not exactly resolved the past seasons.
For as long as Rivers gets everyone on the same page, this could be the year for the Clippers. For a change, Los Angeles may be cheering a team other than the Lakers who are still in the rebuilding stages.
