There is a lot of enthusiasm revolving around the news that the "NieR: Automata" game is going to get elements from "Final Fantasy XV" and more details were revealed about this crossover in a trailer which arrived recently.
Creating a crossover between two games is a neat concept and Square Enix and PlatinumGames are taking full advantage of it in the game "NieR: Automata". Importantly, in a trailer which arrived for the game on November 23 the crossover with "Final Fantasy XV" was highlighted. The character YoRHa No2 Type B was seen wielding the "Engine Blade" weapon which is synonymous with Noctis from the Final Fantasy series. Also going by the events in the trailer, it appears that Noctis's teleport skill has also been inherited by the android No2 Type B.
This particular crossover between "NieR: Automata" and "Final Fantasy XV" has already been capturing the attention of gamers and industry gurus. GamesRadar even billed it as a blend of bizarre concepts present in the original "Nier" game with smooth combat that is present in "Final Fantasy XV". Also, the website went on to outline that this particular combination has resulted in a totally unique product and is not dated in any way.
The website DualShockers stated that the action outlined in the recent trailer clearly focused on the "Engine Blade" sword, but there was other action happening in a ruined castle. In addition to the sword there was a new weapon seen in the form of a spear and its chief strength is its good reach. However, compared to the "Engine Blade" sword the spear is likely to take a back seat as it cannot be used in close combat when the player needs to take on enemies that are surrounding him.
While it is clear that weapons and skills are going to make an impact on "NieR: Automata", GamesRadar described it as having a lot more to offer and lauded its responsive controls and pacing. The action is also described as being reminiscent of "Metal Gear Rising" and "Bayonetta" while the main plot which is focused on a invasion of earth by machines, which seems to have been heavily influenced by the "Battlestar Galactica" reboot which released in 2004.
"NieR: Automata" is due to release next year on February. 23 when it will arrive on the PlayStation 4 in Japan. After this the game will roll out in the western hemisphere where it will be available on Steam and PS4.
