Kelly Clarkson , 34, recently admitted that she is done having kids. The "American Idol" winner revealed she got her tubes tied in April and made her husband Brandon Blackstock undergo a vasectomy.
"I am super thankful I'm never going to be pregnant again," Clarkson told Extra. "I have my beautiful children and I'm done! They're just running me ragged. It's like hard to do anything but raise kids right now. But it's good. It's awesome."
The mother-of-two, who is also stepmother to Brandon's older kids, admitted it is really difficult to balance her career and her family life. Despite that, she thinks it is important for her to do both to be a good example for the children.
"I think it's definitely worth it," Clarkson said. "I have a great teammate with my husband. He will definitely reel me in when I'm like, 'It's all going down, we're losing it!'"
Clarkson and Blackstock tied the wedding knots in October 2013 and are parents to a two-year-old daughter, River, and seven-month-old son, Remington. The latter also has two children from his past relationship.
The shocking news comes after Clarkson shared her plan of releasing a new single in April 2017, with the eighth studio album to follow in June. It will be released under a brand new label, Atlantic Records.
"I'm working on my new album now," Clarkson told PEOPLE during an interview at the S.H.E. Summit in New York City, revealing the upcoming album is as soulful urban pop and not the rock pop familiar to her fans. "It's very much my personality. I think it's very much what people expected from me off of watching me on 'American Idol'."
Though the eighth studio album is not completed yet, Clarkson revealed they have a good batch of songs already and stressed that she cannot wait to sing them live. More details about the said album will be revealed soon.
