This year the world got the iPhone 7, and it is rumored that next year the iPhone 8 will be replaced with the iPhone 7s which will have an A11 chipset and come with a red colored body.
With the iPhone 7 selling like hotcakes this year and proving that the removal of the 3.5mm headphone jack was a non-issue. Analysts have started to speculate how Apple will improve on it next year. There have been rumors for many months that next year will see the arrival of the iPhone 8 with a radical new design and possibly no home button. However, if the latest rumor about next year's device is taken into account it appears that Apple has decided to stick with a safe iPhone 7s and 7s Plus, as reported by MacOtakara.
The latest rumor from Macotakara also indicates that Apple will bring out a red colored iPhone 7s and 7s Plus, but this change is relatively minor and is not being viewed as anything big when it comes to design. It is however expected that the 7s lineup will have a new chipset and it will be the A11 which will be advanced compared to this year's A10.
As soon as the rumor about the iPhone 7s arriving next year was spotted it was labeled as something to be taken with a large dose of salt, reported GSMArena. It also pointed out that the rumor emerged from a particular parts supplier in Taiwan and so it is, therefore, different from all others and cannot be trusted.
Analysts have been indicating that next year Apple will opt to skip the iPhone 7s and bring out an iPhone 8. There have also been several reports that the company will opt to bring out an OLED screen on it and it will have an all glass body and no home button. This expected redesign of the iPhone lineup next year has been capturing headlines and the only reason that Apple might have to bring out the iPhone 7s instead, could be because they do not want to take a risk and cause sales to drop off.
However, Chinese manufacturers are continually bringing out new metal bodied smartphones that are posing a challenge for the iPhone and this could force the redesign next year. Finally, if Apple sticks with the iPhone 7s lineup next year it will look almost identical to this year's iPhone 7.
