"Attack on Titan" Season 2 release date schedule has finally revealed, along with the news that Crunchyroll could be tapped by Funimation to still provide a simulcast of the anime series.
Since the confirmation of Season 2 of the hit anime back in 2014, fans have been in constant watch for its return. Although the speculated release this year was moved to April 2017, the enthusiasm of fans did not wane at all. Instead, more and more anime fans are getting hooked to the anime as they await for its premiere next year, as reported by AnimeNewsNetwork reported.
Subsequently, the news of the release date for "Attack on Titan" Season 2 was then followed by another significant detail. According to recent reports online, Funimation has acquired the rights to broadcast "Attack on Titan."
"'Attack on Titan' is one of those rare titles that has reached true cult status with anime fans. It's been more than 3 years since the last episode of 'Attack on Titan' Season 1 and passion from its fans has not waned. We look forward to premiering it on FunimationNow," ComicBook quoting Funimation COO Mike DuBoise.
Together with the detail that Funimation will be taking over on the broadcast of "Attack on Titan," ComicBook also highlighted that Crunchyroll could bring an English sub and dub to their respective sites once Season 2 gets underway as part of their previously reported collaboration with Funimation in expanding anime simulcast.
Under those circumstances, then anime fans may still continue to enjoy online simulcast of the anime like they used to do before.
Meanwhile, in a much related news, potential new arc for Season 2 could be showcased come the release of the anime. As mentioned in a separate report, the new arc could focus on a clash between science and mysticism. However, there are still no conclusive evidences to support the claim, guess we would just have to wait and see how things will unfold for "Attack on Titan" Season 2 in 2017.
