With an impressive live-action trailer to hype up Nintendo's upcoming iOS gaming title "Super Mario Run," the mobile game's latest clip appears to contain elements from the "Pokemon Go" teaser. Meanwhile, Shigeru Miyamoto shared some interesting details about the game's playable characters and special in-game items.
Avid "Mario" gamers have been looking forward to learning more about Nintendo's "Super Mario Run." With only a few days before the said mobile game goes live, the Japan-based company recently unveiled a live-action trailer that showcased a group of people from various countries and walks of life running together.
Given its very polished editing and its focus on the game's central theme of running, the preview was able to incorporate certain aspects of the "Mario" game as special effects. With several individuals jumping, tumbling or flipping their way towards a common goal, hitting some objects resulted in the release of gold coins which were digitally added to the clip.
It appears that Nintendo has prepared an aggressive marketing plan for the upcoming "Super Mario Run" iOS game. The gaming company's strategy to launch a live-action teaser, similar to "Pokemon Go," is a representation of the changes on how mobile games are now being promoted, according to Forbes.
Meanwhile, a few scenes from Nintendo's "Super Mario Run" teaser contained elements that were reminiscent of some sequences featured in the "Pokemon Go" clip. The scene that showed people running and converging towards New York's Time Square with a cartoon Mario looked similar to the end scene in Niantic's mobile gaming app trailer.
In other news, "Mario" creator Miyamoto recently revealed some of the planned enhancements for the upcoming iOS game. In an interview with Time, he teased of potential new power-ups aside from the mushroom and Super Star that may be added to "Super Mario Run."
Moreover, Miyamoto shared that gamers can unlock other playable characters in Nintendo's upcoming iOS game. However, he did not divulge who the said characters are although speculations pointed to Mario's partner Luigi and Peach.
