BIGBANG comeback is slated on Dec. 12 after their successful major comeback last year.
Last year, BIGBANG made waves in Kpop industry by releasing new tracks that topped the charts. The boy group will release a full album in celebration of their 10th year anniversary. However, some VIPs were puzzled why the guys will release a new album when they cannot promote it fully since oldest member TOP will enter the army next year.
Below are the alleged real reasons behind the BIGBANG comeback.
YG Entertainment's involvement with President Park Geun Hye
YG allegedly have links to the South Korean president and her trusted colleague and religious leader. Reports claimed that it is because of this link that YG got favored at events. Everyone linked to the president's scandal are negatively affected on netizens' eyes. With the impeachment votes released, YG may have foresaw that the public will perceive the label undesirably that it may affect the business side of things.
2NE1 disbandment and Park Bom, Nam Tae Hyun Leaving YG
Two of the major news involving the YG artists is the disbandment of the label's girl group 2NE1 and the departure of Nam Tae Hyun from Winner. 2NE1 has been the flagship female group of the agency since they debuted in 2009. For seven years, 2NE1 dominated the charts and was even dubbed as the queens of Kpop. However, the group fell apart after the youngest member Minzy left the group and Park Bom reportedly did not resign with YG Entertainment.
Meanwhile, there are hearsays stating that Park Bom and Nam Tae Hyun were fired from the agency after causing trouble within their groups. Park Bom's drug scandal has become the deal breaker in her career. Nam Tae Hyuns, on the other hand, released songs on Sound Cloud while he is still signed under YG, which means that his creations are part of the intellectual property of the company.
Artists Scandals
YG artists have their fair share of scandals. Aside from Park Bom's drug scandal, G-Dragon's misogynist labels on his clothing line and his love interest (mainly with Japanese actresses) made headlines this year. It is speculated that YG is bringing out its big guns (meaning its big artists) to steer the attention away from the negative news about the label.
