Titan Fighting Championship title contender Andrew Whitney, who lost the bantamweight championship against Farkhad Sharipov last Dec. 2, accidentally punched the ring girl standing right behind him out of frustration right after the announcement of Sharipov's win.

Whitney appeared to have been celebrating his potential victory after holding his fist in the air during the announcement of the winner for the bantamweight title but right after Sharipov's name was called instead of his, 'The Beast' turned around while throwing a punch only to know that a ring girl was standing right behind him.

The girl, who was applauding for Sharipov's victory, was hit right in the jaw but still managed to stay in her feet despite the force of the punch coming from 32-year-old Missouri native.

Though it may seem that Whitney did not want to punch the ring girl in purpose after trying to catch her and reassure her of her security, Titan Fighting Championship chief executive officer Jeff Aronson said that while Whitney's punch was unintentional, he wants his the fighters to act as professionals all the time, as reported by The New York Post.

Aronson, who did not identify the ring girl, said that the girl was attended by doctors and officials and indicated that "she was fine and was more surprised by the punch than injured."

The Titan FC CEO added that they have spoken with Whitney's group and they are taking proper arrangements for the incident to not happen again.

In a story by MMA News, the 5-foot-7 mixed martial artist said before his bout that he was the most deserving of title and boasted that he has been with Titan since day one.

Whitney has a 14-5 record. He has won four straight fights prior to his loss against Sharipov. The 32-year-old has six knockouts/technical knockouts under his belt and has four submissions.
