New details and spoilers for "Spider-Man: Homecoming will feature more details on Iron Man's role in the film, sequel release date and the possible formation of the Sinister Six.
"Spider-Man: Homecoming" will feature three villains in the Spider-Man mythos and these are Adrian Toomes/The Vulture (Michael Keaton), Herman Schultz/Shocker (Bokeem Woodbine) and Phineas Mason/The Tinkerer (Michael Chernus).
Tinkerer will be responsible for Vultures high-tech suit as he is depicted in the Marvel Cinematic Universe as a former employee of Stark Industries but was fired by Tont Stark/Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.) from unknown reasons. It is speculated that Vulture and Shocker's weapons are based from the Chitauri tech that was scattered throughout New York during their invasion in the first "Avengers" film.
With these three appearing in "Spider-Man: Homecoming", fans begun speculating that Marvel Studios could set-up the Sinister Six in the MCU soon, Melty reported.
Sony previously had plans for a "Sinister Six" film as part of the "The Amazing Spider-Man" franchise along with "Venom". It was a direct competition for Warner Bros. produced film "Suicide Squad", which is also a super villain focused movie.
"The Amazing Spider-Man 2" film credits already teased the formation of the Sinister Six members such as Green Goblin, Kraven the Hunter, Black Cat, Doctor Octopus, Rhino and Vulture. Unfortunately, Sony scrapped their plans for "Sinister Six" since they have announced that Spider-Man will be moving to the Marvel Studios.
In other news, more details on Tony Stark's role in "Spider-Man: Homecoming" have been revealed.
Tony Stark recruited Peter Parker/Spider-Man (Tom Holland) in "Captain America: Civil War" as part of his team and he is the first one to discover his secret as the web-slinger, to the point that Tony himself provider Spidery's suit and upgraded web-shooters.
As seen in the "Spider-Man: Homecoming" official and international trailers, Tony will be a mentor to Peter as he teaches the pros and cons of being a hero. He plays similar to Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) in a way tries to help him out and tries to take pause, begins practically assessing his new ward’s suitability for the Avengers and tries to keep Peter in check, showing signs of maturity in Tony's part.
Co-producer Eric Hauserman Carroll stated that Peter's participation in "Captain America: Civil War" had a huge mental effect in his life as he not only saw the Avengers, he wants to join them, but has reponsibilities as a student and he is stuck in the situation, hence his desperate need to prove himself to Tony as a future member of the team.
Tony on the other hand, tries to be a the father figure in Peter’s life. And while it is to some degree one-sided, with Peter clearly reading more into the relationship, with him being just a teenager, Tony has some clear affection for his young ward as he allows Peter to keep the new Stark Industries suit and as they depart gives some convoluted hero advice, then, later on, begins to get much sterner, all in an attempt to keep the teenager safe.
There relationship could be the key point for Peter to overcome obstacles and to prove himself as he selfless hero and possibly future member of the Avengers, Screenrant reported.
Lastly, Marvel and Sony announced that the sequel for "Spider-Man: Homecoming" is slated to launch on July 5, 2019.
"Spider-Man: Homecoming" will be release on July 7, 2017.
