Deep Silver and Sega have announced that "Valkyria Revolution" will be coming to the West next year. Details of the video game have been revealed.
According to the official website of Deep Silver, the Japanese "Valkyria: Azure Revolution" has now become "Valkyria Revolution" as it comes to the West. It will be launched in the second quarter of 2017.
The game company has revealed that instead of just releasing the video game in the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita like what happened in Japan, it will now also launch on the Xbox One in the United States as well. The PS Vita version will only be available digitally, which means players will have to wait for it to download completely before playing.
The game company explained that the name change was due to being difficult to do from a graphic design standpoint in English. They also wanted to make the game more distinct from the previously released game titles from the franchise.
According to another post on the official website of the game publisher, the upcoming video game is not just a new chapter in the "Valkyria" series, but it will be a whole new entry. It will have new characters, a new world to explore, and new gameplay mechanics to learn. It has now become an action-oriented video game with devastating melee combos, lethal ranged attacks, and strategic shifts to turn the tide of battle.
Five lifelong friends, which have been consumed by personal revenge, will start this big war. The Circle of Five will use their combined influence in the political and military positions to motivate a small, economically blockaded homeland to rise up and become a powerful resistance. This small army will fight against their imperialist oppressors and players will watch the history of this Great War in the video game.
The game will feature Brunhilde, one of the ancient and powerful Valkyrur. These beings have limitless power and this one is particularly bound by oath to the enemy forces. Players will have to find a way to defeat her.
"Valkyria Revolution" will have a brand new battle system called the LeGION, which mixes real-time combat with tactical strategy. Players will have to use tactics or combos to find a balance between them, which will be the key to victory.
