American professional tennis player Serena Williams, currently the number one ranking player in women's singles, says she loves her supporters. Williams recently opened up to her fans on Twitter and started interacting with them by replying to their questions.
When asked about her interaction with her fans on her Twitter account, she replied that the only time people see her is when she is playing in the court of posing on billboard ads, people never really get to know her more as the person herself. In lieu to that, she does a bit of Q&A on Twitter whenever she can. According to Williams, she answers their questions as honestly as possible because they are her fans, and she wants them to stay as her fans. She loves the people who support her and come to see her play. Coming and paying to see her play is the ultimate compliment.
A question was asked Williams about the hardest thing about fame. She responded that people do not really know her and they make assumptions but she understands that no one can judge anyone unless they know them more. The nicest thing about being famous is that being the best that you can do which is all she really care about, to be the best in what she does, Stuff Sports reported.
Williams also explained that she does get nervous in every single game no matter how big or small the competition is. And when it comes to playing against her friends like Caroline Wozniacki, one of her closest friends, she just plays it like any other game and remains friends afterwards. She believes that if she can play against her sister then she can do it with anyone.
Talking about Venus Williams, she admits that at first it was very hard to beat her sister. She was older, more experienced, and that notion that younger sisters are usually worse. To her, she felt like a nobody since her older sister is better than her in all their lives. It took a while before she finally get over it.
On competitiveness, the younger Williams admits that she is very competitive inside the court, she always has to win. She said that she admired Nelson Mandela for his wits and has met him a couple of times and got her very inspired. Recently she became good friends with Sheryl Sandberg, Facebook COO and "Lean In" author, and was inspired by her book.
Being the ambassador for Berlei, she said she has four deep long drawers full of it. During her time offs, she takes a lot of sleep as much as she can or or simply watches TV and stays in bed. Sometimes she enjoys laying on the pool, relaxing, eating junk food and not leaving the house. Her favorite meal is her mom's chicken with rice and gravy.
Thinking about not being a tennis champion, she would like to be a housewife because she simply enjoys cooking, cleaning and taking care of things, according to News Now.
