It looks like Song Ji-Hyo is having a hard time accepting the fate of the SBS show "Running Man." The 35-year-old actress, who just knew she was ousted from the show after the news made headlines, reportedly locked herself in a room and cried for three days.
Just days after Song and Kim Jong-Kook was announced to be leaving the variety show, an entertainment personnel close to the former revealed to Korea Boo just how much she was hurting from it. The actress, whose known for her "Ace" image on the show, reportedly cut contact with everyone and just shut herself in and cried.
"She loved 'Running Man' dearly and considered the show her family for the past seven years," the source added. "She was wounded very deeply through this ordeal."
It can be recalled that the show's officials had one-sidedly kicked off Song and Kim in preparation for "Running Man" Season 2. However, the process drew a lot of criticism from the public, causing SBS to pull the plug on the hit variety show.
It was decided after the entire cast and staff members held an emergency meeting on Dec. 16, Friday. Since both sides do not want to end the show on such a sad note, the officials decided to keep the current six cast members until February 2017.
Kim and Song then confirmed the good news through a joint statement released to different local media groups. In a press statement obtained by New Straits Times, the two Hallyu stars said they chose to stay until the end to show the strength of friendship that was built over seven years.
It is also their way of thanking all the fans and viewers at home and abroad for supporting the SBS show for such a long time. On behalf of all the six cast members, the two then pledged to do their very best until the finale.
