There are only a couple of weeks left on WWE programming for the year 2016. It has been an up and down year for the company in terms of ratings but things are looking great heading in next year. Here is the latest news regarding Neville's heel turn, Mick Foley taking some time off and an update on the Seth Rollins-Triple H feud.
Plans for Neville and the Cruiserweight Division
Rich Swann retained the WWE cruiserweight title at Roadblock: End of the Line by defeating TJ Perkins and The Brian Kendrick in a Triple Threat Match. Neville, who has been absent from WWE television for some time, made his return and proceeded to the ring.
The Man That Gravity Forgot was seemingly there to give Swann a handshake but he attacked the cruiserweight champion. He also punished Perkins, who tried to confront him for unleashing wrath on the champ.
According to Cageside Seats, the WWE is planning something big for Neville that is why he made a big return at Roadblock: End of the Line. It is also a breath of fresh of air since it is the first time Neville is portrayed as a bad guy.
Mick Foley taking a short hiatus
The Raw GM is set to take some time off in the final two weeks to undergo replacement hip surgery, per The Wrestling Observer (subscription required). He will be back on television for the January 2, 2017 episode of Raw.
However, Foley is going to take another hiatus after that to recover from the surgery. It should be noted that the 51-year-old has taken a lot of punishment over the years and it is only a matter time before he goes under the knife to correct injuries.
WWE teasing Seth Rollins-Triple H feud
The Architect finally started calling out Triple H two weeks ago on Raw. He successfully defeated Chris Jericho at Roadblock: End of the Line and he now permanently set his sights on The Game. In an interview with WWE.com, Rollins once again called out Triple H.
"Seth Rollins beats Chris Jericho every time, that's one down on my path to retribution. I've laid it out for the past few weeks. It starts with Chris Jericho, now it's on to Kevin Owens, and it ends with Triple H. I'm going to pay him back for everything he ever did to me," Rollins said.
