Being in a bromance has been one of the things “Descendants of the Sun” actor Song Joong-ki is known for. It is not surprising that he and co-star Jin Goo are one of the 10 nominees for the Best Bromance category in the newly launched 12th Soompi Awards 2016.
Since the 16-episode military-medical drama aired over KBS 2TV in South Korea and iQiyi in China from late February through mid-April, Song Joong-ki and Jin Goo showed the real meaning of camaraderie common among men in uniform. In “Descendants of the Sun,” their bond and friendship were strictly platonic and nothing romantic unlike the Domino Pizza ads of Song Joong-ki and Park Bo Gum.
Besides the two, the nine other male pairs or groups nominated for Best Bromance are Eric Mun & Sound Crew, Hongbin & Lee Hyun Woo, Jo Jung Suk & Go Kyung Pyo, Lee Jong Suk & Lee Taw Hwan, Lee Joon Gi & Nam Joo Hyuk, Lee Min Ho & Cn Friends, Park Bo Gum & Kwak Dong Yeon, Seo In Gu & Ma Dong Seok, and “The Reply 1988” Crew.
The Best Bromance is one of the 15 sub-categories of the Drama/Variety category of the 12th Soompi Awards 2016. The 14 other sub-categories are Breakout Actor, Best Idol Actor, Best Web Series, Best Adaptation, Best Foreign Drama, Best Variety Show, Best Variety Star, Best Drama OST, Second Lead Syndrome, Best Kiss. Spottoon Best Couple, Actor of the Year, Actress of the Year and Drama of the Year.
The other category is Music with 14 sub-categories. Meanwhile, Soompi released on Thursday the results of voting for the Top 10 Artists and Top 20 Idols.
