Lucas Todesco has been aggressive as of late, claiming that an iOS 10.1.1 jailbreak is doable. He singled out exploits that could make a crack possible, showing it all off via video.
For those who have followed the hacker, he has been known more for showing off videos that actually releasing an iOS jailbreak. This time, however, he is taking his cue from a forum thread which showed how to jailbreak an iPod Touch and iPad Mini 2 running on iOS 10.1.1, Project Zero reported.
For those who have an iPod Touch or iPad Mini 2, jailbreaking their devices could be welcome news. The problem is that such is limited to people with coding experience, meaning it may be too technical to handle. Todesco claims that he can do the crack for most though there was no actual date of release mentioned.
Todesco doesn’t exactly have a good track record when it comes to releasing iOS jailbreaks since he hasn’t made anything public as of to date. Add to the fact that he previously commended Apple for making iOS 10.2 bug-free and the chances of seeing a working iOS 10 jailbreak all the more looks far-fetched.
Apple did roll out iOS 10.2 but the latest operating system carries problems as well. Of the lot, the 30-percent battery drain problem was not addressed. In fact, some even claim that it has gotten worse with most claiming that battery percentages get stuck at a certain level and drops dramatically, Forbes reported.
With iOS 10.2 bringing in more questions than answers, most are likely to remain on iOS 10.1.1. Take note that Apple recently issued a new cut-off which means Apple owners may not be able to roll back to old OS versions once they update to the latest OS.
In the same report, Apple has stopped signing iOS 10.1 and 10.1.1 meaning folks will no longer be able to roll back to them once they upgrade to iOS 10.2. With these circumstances, it becomes the perfect opportunity for Todesco and other hacking groups to strike with a potential iOS 10.1.1 jailbreak.
