With Capcom's release of the newest update for "Street Fighter 5" Season 2, it exemplifies the company's desire to eliminate rage quitters in the scene. With this, the new update gives a taste of the penalties imposed against these players.
According to MNR Daily, Capcom has penalized rage quitters in "Street Fighter 5" as early as March as a means of curbing the behavior. The penalty has only gotten more stricter a few months afterwards, with players getting locked out of their accounts for 24 hours for disconnecting three times within the span of two hours.
Right now, Capcom has stepped up their penalties for rage quitting in "Street Fighter 5" season 2. Basically, players will be publicly humiliated by getting a special badge placed beside the rage quitter's name. With this, other players will be warned that of their disconnection tendencies during matches.
Also, the game will now ensure that rage quitters will be matched with players of the same nature. In the same way, players who rarely disconnect from fights will be matched with players who fight fairly and stay until the end.
The Rage Quit mechanic update is not the only thing that has been changed in "Street Fighter 5" season 2. After all, Capcom actually released a PDF file that is almost 100 pages long in order to give light on all the changes made for the new update.
Meanwhile, Capcom's Matt Dahlgren confirmed in an interview with Event Hubs that they do not plan to release new editions for the "Street Fighter 5" game. This is in direct contrast with the game's previous installment, as it released new editions such as "Ultra Street Fighter 4" and "Super Street Fighter 4."
The reason behind the decision is due to the fact that the series' model is a service-based platform. What this means is that it will rely on earnable post launch content instead of releasing newer editions.
