"Fifty Shades Darker" star Dakota Johnson has been dubbed as one of the most popular female celebrities for 2016 by Just Jared.
The actress, who plays the role of Anastasia Steele in the "Fifty Shades" franchise, has received millions, if not billions of views on the publication's site alone for this year. The result did not come as a surprise since the filming for "Fifty Shades Darker" and "Fifty Shades Freed" took place this year.
Additionally, there have also been ongoing rumors claiming that Johnson and her co-star, Jamie Dornan, was an item while on the set of the "Fifty Shades of Grey" sequels. Despite the co-stars denying such allegations, fans still believe that they have developed a close relationship after working and traveling together for months.
Meanwhile, the official teaser for "Fifty Shades Darker" was also released by Universal Pictures this year. This added to the views of Johnson on the site alone. In the promo clip, Anastasia and Christian Grey (Dornan) could be seen kissing and canoodling with each other. Even though there will not be any frontal exposures in the film, the two characters are expected to have very steamy scenes together.
In other news, the official lyric video for the soundtrack of "Fifty Shades Darker" has just been released online. "I Don't Wanna Live Forever" was sung by Taylor Swift and Zayn Malik. In the video, some scenes featuring Dornan and Johnson were also shown.
While speaking with the New York Times, cinematographer Seamus McGarvey explained how Dornan and Johnson's sex scenes were executed and shot. According to him, the former always had something covering his junk. Johnson, on the other hand, wore a patch the covered her privates, as well as most parts of her body.
After seeing some of their scenes, Dornan admitted that he would typically feel insecure about his body. "I have the same insecurities I always did. When I see an image of myself, all I see is this skinny kid, and I do not like it," he said.
"Fifty Shades Darker" is slated for release in theaters in the United States on Feb. 10, 2017.
