Gionee has finally unveiled its M2017 smartphone in China, which carries impressive specs such dual-camera setup, 6GB of RAM, sapphire glass display and a hefty 7,000 mAh battery capacity.
The centerpiece for the new Gionee flagship phone is its 7000 mAh battery capacity. The device actually sports two 3500 mAh batteries fitted inside, which will even pack the Quick Charge 3.0 technology.
According to Engadget, the M2017's massive battery capacity could enable users 32 hours of talk time and 26 hours of non-stop video. On a single charge, the phone can stay up to more than 915 hours on standby mode.
Specs-wise, Indian Express reported that the Gionee M2017 sports a 5.7-inch curved Quad HD AMOLED display, coupled with 2K resolution (2560 X 1440 pixels). As per its internal chassis, the device boasts an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 635 SoC. It has two inbuilt storage options, a 128 and 256 GB.
In its optics department, Gionee M2017 sports a dual-camera lens set. It features two rear cameras, a 12MP and 13MP sensors, while its front-snapper sports an 8MP camera module.
The dual-SIM smartphone features a curved edge display with sapphire glass protection for extra scratch resistance, while measuring 155.2 x 77.6 x 10.78 mm and weighing 238 g. It runs an Android Marshmallow 6.0.1 with Gionee's own operating system, the Amigo 3.5 skin, on top.
On another note, Gionee is also removing the phone's 3.5mm headphone jack, a gesture that was initially made by Apple in its iPhone 7 unit. The phone comes with a fingerprint sensor, alongside other connectivity options such as 4G, Bluetooth, GPS, USB Type-C and Wi-Fi.
The phone is available in two colors, Black and Gold, and will offer two editions. The standard model starts at Yuan 6,999 (approx Rs 68,000), while its top model with Italian custom alligator skin back is priced at Yuan 16,999 (approx Rs 1,66,000).
Gionee still remained mum about the launch date of the M2017 for other markets across the globe, although it has already offered preorders in China market. In addition, the Gionee M2017 comes with two back designs, Metal and Leather.
