"Grey's Anatomy" Season 13 recently saw Meredith Grey (Ellen Pompeo) and Nathan Riggs (Martin Henderson) flirting with each other. In a series of episodes, it was obvious that the characters loved sleeping with each other, but Meredith did not seem interested to get into a serious relationship with Nathan.

Later on, Meredith also found out that her sister, Maggie (Kelly McCreary), was interested in Nathan. The former was shocked to know this because she has been doing things with the latter. However, Meredith deliberately decided not to tell Maggie the truth about her relationship with Nathan. This has led some fans to think that Meredith is so immature.
According to TV Line, it would have been so much easier and better if Meredith just came clean to Maggie. However, she decided to prolong the agony of her sister by keeping her in the dark. To make things worse, Maggie will most likely find out the truth about Meredith and Nathan in the back half of Season 13 so this could start a huge feud between them.
While speaking with the same publication during a separate interview, McCreary said that she knows for sure her character will be crushed when she finds out the truth. Not only will she be devastated over the fact that Nathan was not interested in her because of Meredith or that her sister lied to her, but she will also be saddened by the fact that she is now ready to fall in love.
"She expresses that a lot in the finale so when she finds out ultimately that it may not be a chance for her to be in love, I think she is going to be heartbroken," she said.
In the end, Meredith and Maggie would have to draw new boundaries and new battle lines in their relationship. But by the looks of it, the two female characters would only need some time before they are able to patch things up again.
"Grey's Anatomy" Season 13 will return to ABC on Jan. 19 at 8 p.m. EST.
