Cupertino based tech giant Apple finally unveils its newest device, Apple Watch, at a flashy event held at the same San Francisco theater where the company introduced the iPad five years ago. Apple also announced that the smart wearable device will hit the stores sometime in April.
The new Apple Watch works the same way as most smartphones, it can send email, make phone calls and has its own set of apps as well, and the only difference is that the former can be strapped on the user's wrist which makes it very handy and easy to use.
The built-in microphone and speakers allows the Apple Watch to make and receive phone calls. Additional features make users' access weather information, calendar, control music and even check the user's heart rate, according to CBS Philadelphia.
Apple CEO Tim Cook presented the company's newest device and said that the Apple Watch is, "Our most personal device ever." The CEO added that aside from the usual function of a common watch, which is to tell time and date, the Apple Watch is capable of functions that can only be done on a smartphone, although some of these features needs that Watch to be paired to an iPhone.
Apple said that the Watch has a price range between $49 up to $449. The entry-level 38mm and 42mm sports band starts at $49. The variant that sports the Milanese Loop band is for $149. The smaller Modern Buckle costs $249 for its 38mm band. The top priced is the Link Bracelet that costs $449 for the 42mm band, according to Engadget.
