Dave Bautista, more famously known as WWE superstar Batista, is one of the best wrestlers of the last 15 years. He has made a name for himself in Hollywood but he has not officially retired from wrestling. However, the latest rumors suggest that Batista is not in good terms with the WWE and a comeback is not possible.
The 47-year-old wrestler-turned-actor last appeared on WWE television on 2014 but his contract expired in 2015. He was reportedly contacted to appear at WrestleMania 32 last year but he turned it down because he wanted his return to mean much more.
According to Cageside Seats, it looks like Batista's return to the WWE for a retirement match is on hold. The report noted that the "Guardians of the Galaxy" star is not in good terms with the company he worked for more than ten years.
It is not the first time the WWE and Batista have clashed. He left the company in 2010 due to the direction the WWE was heading. And in 2014, he cited creative differences as the reason for not finishing his contract.
In an appearance on Talk is Jericho podcast, Batista expressed his frustration on how the WWE handled his 2014 return. He told creative that he wanted to return as a heel but the company thought otherwise. His return flopped as the WWE had to change its plans for WrestleMania XXX with Daniel Bryan winning the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.
Nevertheless, the six-time WWE world champion is grateful for what the WWE has given him over the years. But the last time Batista spoke about the WWE is when his good friend and current WWE superstar Titus O'Neil was suspended for playfully pulling Vince McMahon's arm during Monday Night Raw.
Batista told TMZ.com February last year that Vince "fu**** up" Titus because he missed a big WrestleMania payday. Also, even though "The Animal" is grateful about the WWE, he possibly soured on them for not supporting his Hollywood career.
"I wanted to come back around [the time of] the release of the film, around Guardians. And I said, 'Wouldn't it be great if I was back and I was also in the number one movie in the world?' And they kind of had a snicker and there was, you know, 'Yeah, well, we don't know if the movie's going to be that good,'" Batista told MLW Radio's Writer Room last June 2016.
It should be noted that the beef between Batista and the WWE is just purely speculative at the moment. We'll give you an update if more information on the matter surfaces. And for more WWE news, rumors and updates, just follow me on Twitter @johnnyrundown.
