Samsung is working on its new flagship device, the Galaxy S8. The company is said to introduce Microsoft's Continuum-like feature on it.
A leaked slide titled Samsung Desktop Experience for Galaxy S8 has surfaced. It shows that the South Korean company will introducing a feature quite similar to Continuum present on WIndows 10. The Continuum feature allows the phone to be used as a desktop PC by connecting a monitor, a keyboard, and a mouse. Samsung has borrowed the concept from Windows 10.
The phone in the slide can be seen connected to monitor. The display can be seen running multiple windows at the same time. The applications that are running background can be seen on taskbar.
If the information is true, Samsung Galaxy S8 will be the first Android phone to run a Continuum-like feature. The Galaxy S8's powerful specs will deliver full PC experience through the new feature by seamlessly allowing users to carry out multitask through several windows.
Samsung has advanced itself to make use of by allowing users to run multiple apps through split-screen on its flagship phones. It seems that the company may offer better multitasking through the Continuum-like feature. It can be also seen in the slide that the keyboard and mouse wirelessly connected to the device, All About Windows Phone reported.
The Samsung Galaxy S8 was expected to unveil during the CES (Consumer Electronics Show) 2017 event. However, fresh information has revealed that its release date has been pushed to April this year.
Samsung is expected to launch Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus with respective screen sizes of 5-inch and 6-inch. Both the phones are expected to house dual-edge curved displays. The Galaxy S8 models are expected to come powered by advanced and most powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chipset. The SoC is capable of running version of Windows 10.
It is pegged to feature 6 GB of RAM and is likely to come with fingerprint scanner which will be integrated on the back of the phone, TechTimes reported. Some of the rumored features of the Galaxy S8 models include dual rear cameras, selfie camera enabled with autofocus, Bluetooth 5.0, USB Type-C and smart AI assistants.
