Kpop group BTS, also known as Bangtan Boys, have been touted to be the next Shinhwa. The seven-member boy band just debuted in 2013 but they are already making a name for themselves in the music industry.
In a recent interview with local media, singer Minwoo complimented BTS and named them as the boy band who will most likely follow the footsteps of Shinhwa. The latter is one of the pioneers of the K-pop idol culture and the longest-running Kpop boy band in the history.
"I personally think BTS," All Kpop quoted Minwoo as saying. "The guy in charge of their choreography used to dance with me. In the past, I heard he was working with a new group so I visited their waiting room. At the time, BTS didn't have their official greeting. So I suggested that they make one and they did."
Later on, Minwoo met Jungkook and noticed how passionate BTS was. So, he believed that the group would do well and they actually did. He added, "I'm so proud of them. It's the first time I felt this way [about a hoobae group] since 2PM."
BTS soared high in popularity across the globe in 2016 with the release of their second full album "Wings." As a result, they have added three tour dates across the United States for its "2017 BTS Live Trilogy Episode III - The Wings Tour."
The additional tour dates will start on March 23 at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey. It will then be followed on March 29, at the Allstate Arena, before BTS makes its way to the Honda Center in Anaheim, California on April 02.
Meanwhile, BTS member Jimin is set to show off his dancing skills in the next episode of MBC's "King of the Masked Singer." On Jan. 04, Wednesday, the singing competition program released a preview for its next episode through Naver TV Cast.
The 30-second preview gave viewers a glimpse of Jimin's dance performance in the panel's area. He is also seen grasping his hands together, excitedly waiting for the voting results. The said episode will air on Jan. 08 at 04:50 PM (KST).
