The Huawei Honor 6X, which was introduced last October with the Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system, will be updated on the latest Android 7.0 Nougat update in the second quarter of 2017, according to the company's CES presentation.
In the recent CES showcasing, Huawei's Honor 6X made a visit on the event where it is confirmed that its operating system will get an upgrade into the latest Android Nougat firmware this coming second quarter. Along with the Nougat update, the device will also receive an upgrade to version 5.0 of the company's EMUI skin, the latest custom interface developed by Huawei, GSMArena reported.
On another note, the Chinese company also announced the smartphone for global markets, including U.S., U.K., France, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Spain, Czech Republic, India, Russia, Malaysia, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE, where the said phone can already be ordered.
During the event, Huawei also announced the phone's pricing and availability date. The handset is slated for release on Jan. 15, although the company already launched pre-orders for the Honor 6X starting on Jan. 4.
The Honor 6X is pegged at a price of $249.99 in the United States and will be sold by HiHonor, Amazon, BestBuy, and Newegg.
Until the smartphone's release, the device will continue to run Android 6.0 Marshmallow with EMUI 4.1 on top. During its initial release last October, the Honor 6X is a mid-range smartphone that sports a more than decent 5.5-inch display supported with full HD (1080p) resolution, Softpedia reported.
In its optics department, the phone is equipped with a dual-lens camera setup, which consists of 12-megapixel and 2-megapixel rear-facing cameras. Its front-snapper sports a secondary 8-megapixel selfie camera.
In its internal chassis, the smartphone puts on an octa-core 2.1 GHz Kirin 655 processor based on the 16nm process as its processor, coupled by a Mali T830-MP2 graphics processing unit. Its internal memory comes in either 3GB or 4GB RAM, as well as 32GB or 64GB of expandable memory.
Its battery information reveals its hefty 3,340mAh battery, which is loaded with a fast charging technology. In its security suite, the Honor 6X puts a fingerprint sensor on its rear panel.
