The Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 release date seems to be imminent. The tablet is expected to get unleashed at MWC (Mobile World Congress) 2017 event in February.
In the previous week, the Galaxy Tab S3 tablet with model number SM-T825 received Wi-Fi certification from Wi-Fi Alliance (WFA) on Jan. 6. This variant carries support for LTE connectivity. The same variant also received certification received Bluetooth Special Interest Group (SIG) on Jan. 5, GSM Arena reported.
The WI-FI and Bluetooth certification of SM-T825 Galaxy Tab S3 tablet has not revealed any information on the specifications of the device. The variant that only features Wi-Fi support is rumored to have a model number of SM-T820. Sam Mobile had reported that the tablet was spotted on Zauba, an Indian website that tracks import and export data.
A total of eight units were sent to India for R&D purpose and evaluation. It revealed that the South Korean tech giant was testing several prototypes of Galaxy Tab S3. The price of each unit was listed as 34,138 INR ($500). Usually, the price listed on Zauba is not the actual price the device carries on release.
Samsung was expected to unveil the Galaxy Tab S3 at the IFA 2016 event, but it did not come true. However, in October 2016, rumors started swirling that the tablet would be arriving in Q1 2017. Rumors have it that the tablet's release at IFA 2016 was canceled because of Galaxy Note 7 recall.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 is expected to be available in 8-inch and 9.7-inch screen sizes. Each tablet is expected to be available in Wi-Fi only and Wi-Fi + LTE models. The Galaxy Tab S2 was released in July 2015. Hence, its successor's arrival is close at hand.
Samsung is heavily pegged to launch Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus smartphones sporting dual-edge curved displays, Snapdragon 835 chipset and high-end specs by April this year. Hence, it is likely that the company may want to release the tablet earlier than the launch date of Galaxy S8.
Hence, speculations are suggesting that the MWC 2017 seems to be an ideal platform for the launch of the much-awaited tablet. However, it is also likely that the South Korean tech giant may announce the tablet within this month.
