"The Following" Season 3, Episode 2, titled "Boxed In," aired Monday, Mar. 9, on Fox. Mark Gray (Sam Underwood) continues to force Ryan Hardy (Kevin Bacon) to tell the truth about how Lily died. Ryan loses another friend in the FBI toward the end of the episode.

Ryan loses his FBI friend Agent Clarke (Felix Solis) after Kyle (Hunter Parrish) and Daisy (Ruth Kearney) abducted the man as part of Mark's vendetta. Introduced in this new episode as another villain is Neil (Glenn Fleshler), someone whose kill method freaks out Daisy.
Max Hardy (Jessica Stroup) tries to convince Ryan and Mike Weston (Shawn Ashmore) to come clean to Agent Gina Mendez (Valerie Cruz) about how Lily was killed. This is what Mark wants in exchange for Clarke's life. Ryan disagrees, saying they will find Clarke instead.
Mark keeps asking for the truth, and Mendez has no idea what he really means. In their search for answers, the FBI finds out Andrew (Michael Irby) - Mark's crew whom they arrested in Episode 1 - and Joe Carroll (James Purefoy) share a history with Dr Arthur Strauss (Gregg Henry).
Mark nearly kills Kyle in a disagreement over his botched plans. Daisy somehow convinces Mark that he needs his crew. The audience is still in the dark as to the backstory of Kyle and Daisy.
Toward the end of the episode, it is revealed through a flashback sequence that Ryan met his new girlfriend Gwen (Zuleikha Robinson) at a hospital where Clarke was rushed over a heart issue. "The Following" Season 3, Episode 2 ends with Ryan crying in Gwen's arms, grieving the death of Agent Clarke.
"The Following" Season 3, Episode 3, titled "Exposed," airs Mar. 16 on Fox. The episode synopsis suggests further conflict between Mark and his remaining crew.
