Reeling clubs Sporting de Gijon (3-11-3, 12 points) and SD Eibar (6-6-5, 23 points) are scheduled to square off at the El Molinon Stadium on Sunday, Jan. 15 as the 2016-2017 La Liga season moves forward.

Sporting Gijon has been reeling at the moment with a three-game losing streak. The team has lost five of their last six outings to remain in the bottom three relegation area together with Granada and Osasuna.
In their most recent fixture held last Saturday on the road at the Gran Canaria Stadium, the Rojiblancos were nipped by home squad Las Palmas to succumb to their third straight loss, as per ESPN.
Head coach Abelardo Fernandez's side was held scoreless in the entire match by Los Amarillos with the lone goal provided by Moroccan forward Nabil El Zhar, hitting a left-footed shot from close range in the 55th minute.
Meanwhile, Eibar suffered its fourth consecutive winless performance after they were blanked by contending squad Atletico Madrid, 0-2, at their own home ground of Ipurua Municipal Stadium also last Saturday, Goal reported.
Head coach José Luis Mendilibar's boys were able to keep it scoreless in the first half as the two sides reached the halftime break in a goalless draw.
However, Atletico began its surge after the restart with Spanish midfielder Saul Niguez breaking the deadlock in the 54th minute with a header from the center of the box off an assist by Brazilian defender Filipe Luis following a corner kick.
French forward Antoine Griezmann doubled the lead 20 minutes later with a close-range left-footer with the assist this time coming from compatriot Kevin Gameiro.
With the loss, Los Armeros dropped to the 10th spot of the Spanish top flight table, 11 points above Sporting Gijon and the bottom three relegation zone.
