The listing on Littlewoods' website comes amidst the lack of any official announcement which has seen avid gamers restless as they wait for Rockstar Games to avail more light on the release date of the long-anticipated "Red Dead Redemption 2." Thanks to the website as "RDR2" fans may finally have an idea about when the game is expected to hit the store shelves.

Rockstar Games, which is still riding on the success of "GTA 5," has not been replying to the plea of the huge fan base of the "Red Dead" series that has been asking for the sequel of "Red dead Redemption 2," a western action-adventure video game. Despite the game developer not giving any confirmation, the British retailer's website could finally spill the beans about the forthcoming western title's release date.

About a week ago, a retail promo stand for "Red Dead Redemption 2" confirmed the sequel will go on to release in fall 2017, according to Game RantHowever, no precise date has been confirmed as both the month and day of its launch are missing.

It now seems as if the game, "Red Dead Redemption 2," could have potentially had its release date leaked by a listing on Littlewoods' website. A screenshot seen on fan site RDR2, seemingly confirmed the real release date. The online store, Littlewoods, initially listed the forthcoming game having a release date of Oct. 2, 2017.

This would coincide with Rockstar's confirmation about the title's launch in fall 2017. Littlewoods has since altered the date that it had listed originally. Currently, the time frame for "RDRS's" for the game's availability on the retailer's site shows a date of Oct. 2, 2017.

Notably, an October release date for "Red Dead Redemption 2" is on a Monday, which is not an ideal launch day for many games. With this, the October release date could have merely been a placeholder for the time being.

Meanwhile, some optimistic "Red Dead Redemption 2" lovers are hoping to watch the game at E3 (Electronic Entertainment Expo) 2017. However, it is best to take the reports with light weight until Rockstar Games comes out with an announcement on the "Red Dead Redemption 2" exact release date.
