HTC announced two new U-series smartphones known as HTC U Ultra and HTC U Play. The release date and the pricing for the device have been officially unveiled. Details on pre-orders, pricing, and release date have been announced.
HTC U Ultra Specifications and Features
HTC U Ultra smartphone features a Dual display. It sports a 5.7-inch primary display that offers a quad HD resolution of a 2560 x 1440 pixels.The phone has a 2-inch secondary display placed above the main display that produces a resolution of 1040 x 160 pixels. The smartphone is equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 chipset that includes a 2.15 GHz quad-core processor.
The phone is packed with a 4 GB of RAM. It comes in two storage variants of 64 GB and 128 GB. The 64 GB storage variant comes with a Gorilla Glass 5 protection whereas the 128 GB variant has sapphire glass protection on the display, NDTV reported.
It sports a 12-megapixel rear camera and a 16-megapixel front facing camera. It does not feature a 3.5 mm audio jack. Other features include USB Type-C port and fingerprint scanner.. The device is equipped with a 3,000 mAh capacity battery that supports Quick Charge 3.0.
The smartphone has four high-sensitivity mics that can record audio from 360 degrees. The HTC U Ultra also has some additional feature known as HTC Sense Companion. It is a smart assistant powered with AI (artificial intelligence) technology that recognises the voice of the user and carry out the task based on the command. For instance, if a user is on a long journey, the phone will give a alert for charging the battery.

HTC U Play Specifications and Features
HTC U Play smartphone has a 5.5-inch display that offers a full HD resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. The device is running on Mediatek Helio P10 chipset.
It comes in two variants depending upon the countries it will release. The first variant is packed with a 3 GB of RAM and a 32 GB internal storage. The other variant has a 4 GB of RAM with a 64 GB internal storage.It also lacks a 3.5 mm audio jack and comes with other features like USB Type-C and fingerprint reader.
The smartphone features a 16-megapixel rear camera and a 16-megapixel front facing camera. The device support USB Type-C port. It is equipped with a 2,500 mAh capacity battery, Android Central reported.
HTC U Ultra, U Play Price, Release Date
HTC U Ultra with a 64 GB storage is priced at a $749. The device is now open for pre-orders and will be made available for purchase in between of March. The 128 GB storage variant of HTC U Ultra is priced at $ 910. Its release date is not yet known.
HTC U Play with a 3 GB RAM / 32 GB storage is priced at $440.The device will be launched in the first quarter of this year. Its other variant featuring a 4 GB RAM and a 64 GB storage will be also launched in the first quarter, but the pricing for the device is yet disclosed. Both the devices will be available in blue, pink white, and black color variants.
