With the advent of new, younger superstars in the WWE, it may come as a surprise that they are planning to bring back a number of their veterans. One of these veterans in question is Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan.
Hogan has had a storied career including spells in New Japan Pro Wrestling, Total Nonstop Action Wrestling, as well as World Championship Wrestling. Aside from this, he has also had five stints in the WWE. Over the course of his career, he has won multiple singles and tag team championships in addition to being the first ever winner of consecutive Royal Rumble matches in 1990 and 1991.
Although Hogan has only described himself as semi-retired, he has not made a WWE appearance since his most recent departure in 2015. In fact, his profile and merchandise were removed from the official website of the WWE after the scandal that prompted this departure, according to News.com.au. However, when the name "Hulk Hogan" was mentioned during the "Roadblock: End of the Line" event, fans began to speculate that the WWE has once again forgave and forgot a disreputable superstar.
Hogan's return was further hinted at in the WWE Network program "Bring it to the Table." Although most of the programming on this network only caters to niche wrestling fans, certain programs cater to a more general audience. This is especially true since they drop hints on major happenings in the WWE.
Programming on the WWE Network is available for $9.99 per month. However, an offer is currently available for a free month of it, so that fans can watch "Bring it to the Table" and see all the details of a potential Hogan return themselves without as much repercussion as purchasing a subscription.
"I think we will [see Hogan back with WWE] and his comments were past inappropriate. I think they were detestable and I abhor what he said and I condemn what he said," said retired professional wrestler John Layfield on WWE Network's "Bring it to the Table."
Layfield stated that Hogan's scandal is not what he should be known for after all that he has contributed to the professional wrestling industry. He also added that Hogan was already punished for the things he said in the incriminating videotape, so a return would be highly welcome.
