"The Originals" Season 5 has not yet been confirmed by The CW, but there are already rumors saying that the series could be cancelled. More speculations arose after executive producer Michael Narducci exited the franchise.
According to TV Line, Narducci has decided to sign on with ABC Studios for two years. He could be in charge of executive producing shows such as "Grey's Anatomy," "Scandal" and "How to Get Away With Murder" and more.
After working with Warner Bros. Studio and The CW for two years, Narducci has decided to leave the network even though "The Originals" is still ongoing. There are rumors that the exec is feuding with his co-executive producer Julie Plec.
Plec, who acts as executive producer for "The Vampire Diaries," could take over "The Originals" if the series will be renewed for Season 5. However, nothing has been confirmed yet since Season 4 has not yet premiered.
Meanwhile, there are also some rumors claiming that Narducci is not getting along with some of the cast members in "The Originals." Joseph Morgan, who plays Klaus, and Daniel Gillies, who plays Elijah, are two of the male actors that Narducci works with closely.
As of late, the rumors have not yet been confirmed, and Narducci, Plec, Morgan and Gillies have not yet responded to them either.
But while speaking with The Hollywood Reporter, Plec said that Narducci got a new deal that he just could not pass up with ABC. The exec also praised Narducci for all of the work he has put in making "The Originals" a hit.
"He has been a brilliant partner and friend and I am going to miss him desperately," she told the publication.
In other news, "The Originals" Season 4 will premiere on March 17. In episode 1, Hayley (Phoebe Tonkin) will play a crucial role in reuniting Elijah with his siblings. Since she also happens to be Hope's mom, Hayley will have plenty of exciting storylines with Klaus. Despite their failed relationship, the two will do everything they can to protect their seven-year-old daughter.
"The Originals" Season 4, episode 1 will air on The CW on March 17 at 9 p.m. EST.
