BIGBANG's Taeyang has been vacationing in Europe and has been making many new friends along the way. However, the idol learnt it the hard way that locals in Europe cannot be trusted, especially if the person offered to be your friend minutes ago.
The singer recently took some time off his busy schedule and flew to Milan, Italy, to catch a much-needed break, according to Koreaboo. During his trip, Taeyang fell victim to a scam orchestrated by a particularly sly local.
The idol was getting his pictures clicked in front of the famous fountain outside the Sforzesco Castle in the city when a street vendor approached him. The man complimented Taeyang on his interesting hairstyle and offered him a handmade bracelet as a token of their newfound friendship.
Taeyang accepted the bracelet and was under the impression that it was a gift from the seemingly kind gentleman. However, he was in for a surprise when his new friend asked him to cough up five euros as soon as Taeyang wore the handmade jewelry on his wrist.
The "Eyes, Nose, Lips" hitmaker realized that he had been tricked, but decided to give him the money as a symbol of their friendship. As it turns out, this scam is quite common throughout Europe, where street vendors dupe unsuspecting tourists into paying for items.
Taeyang did not seem too bothered by the incident and also shared the experience with his fans. He took to Instagram to post pictures of the moment he was approached by the scamster accompanied with the hashtag #BestFriendsForever.
BIGBANG's label, YG Entertainment, recently confirmed via a statement obtained by Korea Portal that Taeyang is planning a solo comeback. The agency did not reveal any further details about the comeback, but reports claim that it wil happen in the first half of 2017.
