BIGBANG's T.O.P is getting ready to bid goodbye to his bandmates and fans as he nears his military enlistment. The idol was overwhelmed with emotion during a concert in Japan as he talked about leaving BIGBANG for military service, which begins early in 2017.
"The stage is always important but the dorm tour, and especially today's stage, holds extra special meaning," All Kpop quoted him as saying. "People say there isn't much time left of the 5 of us together but I think the 5 of us will be together forever."
T.O.P, who is BIGBANG's main rapper and the oldest member of the group at 29, added that he has had a lot of pleasant experiences in life but the five group members coming together was one of the best things that happened to him. He also asked fans to continue supporting the band like they have over the years in order to make sure that the band stays together.
After the concert, the idol shared a video on his Instagram account for his Japanese fans. The clip shows the rapper waving goodbye to the fans followed by a finger heart sign to express his affection to them.
In his caption, which was written in Japanese, T.O.P bid farewell to the fans and said that he will miss them a lot but noted that the feelings will help him grow further as an individual and come back stronger. The idol's farewell post came hours after his final performance in Japan with his fellow group members G-Dragon, Taeyang, Daesung and Seungri.
T.O.P's official date for military enlistment has already been set. The idol will be starting his military duty as a conscripted policeman on Feb. 9, 2017, Soompi reported. The remaining BIGBANG members will soon follow T.O.P's footsteps with G-Dragon and Taeyang enlisting next year and Daesung and Seungry joining in 2018.
