Other cast members include Takahiro Sakurai, Mamoru Miyano, Junichi Suwabe, Kana Hanazawa and "Tomokazu Sugita. Their work includes "Brotherhood: Final Fantasy XV," "Naruto Shippuden" and the highly acclaimed animated feature film, "Your Name."

All six cast members will attend the upcoming AnimeJapan event this coming March, Anime News Network reported. More details about their characters and the film's plot are expected to be revealed during the panel. This is also when the film's first trailer is expected to be released.

Gen Urobochi, the man behind anime projects such as "Psycho-Pass" and "Puella Magi Madoka Magica," is responsible for the story. The film will be directed by "Detective Conan" veteran Kobun Shizuno and "Knights of Sidonia" director Hiroyuki Seshita.

The 2014 "Godzilla" movie from Legendary revitalized the franchise in the West, grossing over $529 million worldwide. It's success inspired Toho Studios to release their own film, "Shin Godzilla" aka "Godzilla: Resurgence" as well as the new animated movie.

While there have been animated "Godzilla" series in the past this is the first animated feature film. It is still unclear if it will connect in some way to the Hollywood franchise, the original Toho "Godzilla" movies or if it will be set in a stand-alone universe.

The animated "Godzilla" movie is scheduled to release this year. A trailer for the recently released "Godzilla: Resurgence" can be viewed below:
