Reports indicate that "GTA 6" has been facing a lot of problems due to its rising development costs. If the rumors are any indication, the game may feature VR or AR, which is causing the supposed delay in its completion and its subsequent release.
According to NeuroGadget, "GTA 5" cost Rockstar Games a whopping $265 million to create, making it one of the most expensive games ever. Supposing that "GTA 6" is as grand as its predecessor, then the game will easily cost the developers upwards of $260 million dollars in creation. However, if the company is planning to integrate VR support, then the costs can easily exceed $300 million.
Rockstar Games have not revealed any update regarding the game's release date so far. According to the speculations online, "GTA 6" is expected to release in 2018. However, rumors also indicate that the game's release may be delayed until 2020.
Meanwhile, as the fans scour the internet to get more details about the game's release date and updates, another shocking report surfaced online that "GTA 6" had already hit the shelves in Brazil. Upon close inspection, it turned out that the report was nothing more than a fake, Kotaku reported.
According to a photo shared by a Reddit user, a close look reveals that the cover image does not add up. Not only does it show Roman numeral 5, with a closely printed number 6, it also featured Summer Glau as the Terminator. Most importantly, the game is playable on PS2.
As the game is still in its development phase, Rockstar Games introduced "GTA Online," the multiplayer extension of "GTA 5," to keep the fans well fed. Developers keep adding regular content updates and options to keep the GTA fans busy as they silently work on the game's sixth installment.
