News has finally come out that "Avengers: Infinity Wars" and its sequel is truly happening. This will definitely be one of the most ambitious cinematic endeavors to date as it will showcase a plethora of Hollywood's in-demand actors.

Directors Joe and Anthony Russo took to Facebook to announce that the film has just started its production. The brothers posted a picture of their first day showcasing the trailers that each star will be using during the course of the film's development alongside a caption, "Day #1 of Infinity."

The current total of confirmed Marvel characters to be part of this project has already reached 67 which could be one of the biggest for a movie. Moreover, both "Infinity Wars" and its sequel will be produced simultaneously, Movie Web has learned.

Furthermore, it is believed that both films will be made with a combined budget of $500 million and is likely to be done towards the entirety of the first half of 2017. Nevertheless, there are initial reports stating that the film's development could done after nine months.

In a statement obtained by Slash Film, Anthony stated that these movies will be the consummation of everything that transpired in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) that dates back to the first "Iron Man" in 2008. The director added that some dimensions in the cinematic universe will end in those movies while there are some that will change and thinking about such are both intimidating and thrilling.

Meanwhile, almost all of the "Avenger's" roster are pretty much confirmed to be included in the project. Star-Lord and the rest of the "Guardians of the Galaxy" crew will also join in the mayhem. 

Aside from these two superhero collectives, Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) will also be seen in the film including Spider-Man (Tom Holland) and Captain Marvel (Brie Larson). Peter Dinklage is also reportedly being tapped to join the film, though it is being debated as to whether he will be playing as the big-headed villain M.O.D.O.K., or Pip the Troll.
