The new season of the superhero anime "My Hero Academia" will be released in a few months. New voice actors have been added to the cast to voice new characters making an appearance in the anime.
According to the seventh issue of the Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump, as cited by MobiPicker, the new cast members include voice actors Azu Sakura, Saki Ogasawara and Koji Okino. Their respective characters are a genius tomboyish girl from the U.A.'s support department named Mei Hatsume, Class 1-B president Itsuka Kendo and a fiery-tempered Class 1-B student named Tetsutetsu Tetsutetsu.
The newly introduced characters are taken from the manga and certainly have useful abilities. The majority of the "My Hero Academia" cast will also return.
Kenji Nagasaki directed the anime with Yousuke Kuroda handling the script and screen composition, Yoshihiko Umakoshi serving as the chief Animation Director and Yuuki Hayashi handling the anime's music. Studio BONES will handle the animation.
The new volume of "My Hero Academia" will have an anime short bundled with it, according to another Weekly Shounen Jump issue, as cited by Comic Book. The 13th volume of the manga will have the anime special, serving as a means of bridging Season 1 and Season 2, which will be released on April 4.
"My Hero Academia" first started as a manga published by the Weekly Shounen Jump in 2014. It follows the life of the middle school student Izuku Midoriya, who possessed no powers in a world full of people with superpowers until he received the gift of One For All from the world's greatest hero, All Might.
The manga was written by Kohei Horikoshi. It was adapted into an anime in 2016 where it gained immense amounts of popularity.
Set to cover the events coming from the "U.A. Sports Festival" story arc from the manga, the new season of "My Hero Academia" will start airing sometime in April during Saturdays. Here is the trailer of the anime:
